Production Envelopes
Compile configuration, references, locks, cost, and review before execution
A Production Envelope is the frozen contract passed to a builder, renderer, image model, video provider, or specialist Station.
objective
target
exact references
reference roles and order
absolute locks
flexible regions
aspect/resolution/duration
layout/camera
negative constraints
provider or implementation lane
cost estimate
review rubric
expected Return
Configuration is not execution
Changing a reference, model, quality, or duration recompiles the envelope and updates the estimate. It does not trigger spending or overwrite an asset.
Execution begins only after an explicit Make/Render action.
Returns
The Return contains exact output assets, settings, provider identity, actual cost, limitations, and evidence. It remains a candidate until reviewed.
Repair
A failed candidate produces a repair envelope containing exact violations rather than restarting from loose prose.
Benefit
The envelope makes visual and production intent portable across providers and people. It preserves the approved world instead of letting every tool reinterpret a folder of references.
